Course Description
This five-day Personal Security & Protective Operations course is designed for law
enforcement personnel tasked with dignitary protection, executive security, witness
protection, special event security, and protective support roles.
The course focuses on advance work, protective planning, escort and evacuation
techniques, site security, vehicle operations, medical integration, and coordinated
response in both high-visibility and low-visibility environments. Instruction reflects tasks
officers may reasonably be assigned or asked to support, including protective details, QRF augmentation, and high-risk event security.
Training emphasizes professionalism, restraint, coordination, and decision-making,
preparing students to operate effectively in complex, public-facing environments
consistent with modern law enforcement standards.
Primary Training Focus
• Scouting and evaluating event and site locations
• Developing primary, alternate, and emergency plans
• Establishing contingencies and decision points
• Site security and target hardening concepts
• Protective escorting and evacuations
• High-visibility and low-visibility protective operations
• QRF concepts and resource staging
• Overwatch and counter-sniper considerations
• Medical integration during protective operations
The course is informed by recent real-world incidents, including assassination attempts,
vehicle ramming attacks, coordinated assaults, and explosive threats, and applies those
lessons within a domestic law-enforcement context.
