Advanced Physical Surveillance
Duration: 5 Days
Course Description
This immersive, hands-on course prepares law enforcement personnel assigned to — or aspiring for positions in — special operations, criminal investigations, and task force assignments that rely on physical and electronic surveillance. The program provides advanced, intelligence-driven skills essential for fugitive apprehension and operations targeting narcotics trafficking, gangs, human trafficking, organized crime, and pattern crimes. Tailored for all skill levels, the course blends classroom instruction with practical, scenario-based training across covert surveillance operations, electronic signature management, and target behavioral analysis.
Instruction is led by a cadre with backgrounds in military special operations, federal task force operations, advanced investigations, and specialized law enforcement assignments. Instructors bring operational experience from high-threat domestic and international environments, providing students with practical methodologies grounded in real-world application.
Training Objectives
The primary objective of this course is to provide investigators and tactical officers with a standardized, repeatable methodology for conducting covert physical surveillance against sophisticated targets. Scenario-based training, force-on-force exercises, and structured debriefs reinforce intelligence fusion, brevity communications, vehicle deployment logistics, and operational security throughout the program.
A core emphasis of the course is helping agencies develop sustainable surveillance standards through practical training applications, consistent team methodologies, and structured performance evaluation. Mission Over Man also offers follow-on sustainment support, scenario facilitation, and operational critiques to assist agencies in maintaining proficiency beyond the initial course.
Course Topics Include:
Fundamentals of Covert Surveillance
Intelligence Integration (OSINT, HUMINT, GEOINT)
Strategic Planning, Preparation & Briefing
Vehicle Logistics & Fleet Considerations
Team Dynamics, Coordination & Communication
Advanced Surveillance Methodologies & Multi-Modal Transitions
Surveillance Equipment & Technical Assets
Concealed Vehicle Hides & Static Observation
Covert GPS Tracker Installation & Usage
Target Behavioral Analysis & Counter-Surveillance (SDRs)
Transitioning from Covert to Overt Operations
Risk Management & Safety Protocols
Surveillance Reporting & Intelligence Documentation
By the end of the course, participants will have a standardized methodology and operationally tested skillset to conduct covert surveillance operations — from planning and equipment deployment through team coordination, target tracking, and overt transition — in real-world, high-stakes environments.
